WASH CARE

Saree care instructions
• For silk sarees, dry cleaning is recommended to maintain their sheen and texture.
• For cotton sarees, dry cleaning is preferred for first wash, later handwash in cold water with a mild detergent.
• For heavily soiled or delicate sarees, professional dry cleaning is advisable.
• Use a mild detergent for washing sarees to prevent colour bleeding.
• Gently squeeze out excess water from cotton sarees and avoid wringing them out completely.
• Never wash with chlorine bleach. It can damage your clothing’s natural fibres.
• Dry sarees in the shade to prevent colour fading
• Some silk garments may bleed in the wash, so test a damp area by dabbing with a wet, white cloth to see if any color leaks onto it.
• Do not tumbledry silk sarees.
• Use natural insect repellents like neem leaves or lavender sachets in storage.
• Do not store sarees in plastic bags as they can trap moisture and lead to mildew. Use silica gel packets that absorbs excess moisture.
• Store sarees away from direct sunlight – Maintains colour vibrancy.
• Avoid spraying perfumes or deodorants directly on the saree, as they can stain.
• Avoid wearing sharp designed footwear with sarees, especially those with delicate fabrics, to prevent damage.
• Use a press cloth between the iron and the saree, especially for delicate fabrics, to avoid direct contact with the hot iron.
